Johnson County government to require face masks in facilities based on CDC guidance

Johnson County, Iowa – Based on recommendations from the Johnson County Public Health Department (JCPH), the Johnson County Board of Supervisors voted on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, to require all visitors and Johnson County employees to wear face coverings in all Johnson County government buildings, regardless of vaccination status. The face coverings must cover both nose and mouth.

The face-covering mandate is effective Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, through Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, and is subject to change, pending guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and JCPH.

Memorial Day 2024 hours for Johnson County governmental offices

Most Johnson County governmental offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of Memorial Day.

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.

Johnson County requesting proposals from area transit providers for Trip Connect program

The Johnson County Social Services Department seeks proposals from qualified transit operators to deliver curb-to-curb, on-demand, and pre-scheduled transit services for its Trip Connect program. Funding will cover the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, with the possibility of extending or an additional year, contingent upon fund availability and project success.

F28 (Penn Street NW) and James Avenue intersection to close week of May 20

Weather permitting, critical closure for improvements to the intersection of F28 (West Penn Street) and James Avenue is expected to begin Monday, May 20, 2024, in Madison Township, Iowa. The intersection will be closed for up to 40 calendar days. F28 (West Penn Street) from Herky Drive to the James Avenue intersection will remain closed to all traffic until phase two work is complete.
